What is Digital Marketing?

Digital marketing, also known as Internet or online marketing, promotes services and products through digital channels. This includes social media, email, SEO, and more.

Why is Digital Marketing Important?

Digital marketing is essential to all businesses and their strategy for success as it allows businesses to reach a wider audience, is cost-effective, measurable and will enable businesses to target specific audiences.

When and how did Digital Marketing start?

Digital marketing can be traced back to the 1990s, with the first clickable banner ad appearing. During the mid-1990s, popular search engines such as Google and Yahoo! were launched. Due to these search engines, online campaigns became more prominent, and businesses started to realise the potential that search engine marketing had. Paid advertising rose in the 2000s along with social media platforms: Facebook and Instagram. Since these events, digital marketing has continued to evolve, leading businesses to many opportunities with various channels, such as search engine optimisation (SEO), social media marketing, email marketing, and content marketing.

How has Digital Marketing evolved since it began?

Digital Marketing has grown tremendously since its inception in the 1990s, leading businesses to many opportunities with various channels, such as search engine optimisation (SEO), social media marketing, email marketing, and content marketing.  It is important to keep updated with the latest technologies and trends in digital marketing and be willing to change as it develops.

The future of digital marketing is exhilarating as it has grown and will continue to do so over the following years. The future will be shaped by several factors, such as; AI integration, voice search optimisation, personalised experiences and social media influencers. Digital marketing will constantly adapt to new technologies, consumer behaviours, and market trends. The need for innovation-driven success for businesses will also play a part in digital marketing's future.

What is the future of Digital Marketing?

The future is exciting as so much has been achieved over the past 30 years, and digital marketing continues to grow. Several factors will shape the future, such as AI integration, the need for personalised experiences, voice search optimisation, and social media influences. The need for innovation-driven success for businesses will also form how digital marketing is used in the future
