Coventry the UKs City of Culture 2021 is a city steeped in history but with a mix of modern culture and architecture. The symbol of the city is Lady Godiva, whom legend says rode through the streets of Coventry, naked and on horseback in response to excessive taxation.
Notable places worth visiting include the partially ruined medieval cathedral that was heavily bombed during the blitz in WW2. The Coventry Transport Museum is also well worth a visit if you have time to explore the City’s automotive past. Finally, if you have kids with you then the newly opened Coventry Wave centre is well worth visiting.
Travel links are excellent and a number of major motorways are in close proximity to the city centre (M6, M42, M40, M69). Coventry is also very close to both the Birmingham International Airport and the NEC exhibition centre, which are a short commute from the city centre.
