The Brief

Equilibrium Lifestyle sells hand-made lifestyle products such as meditation cushions and relaxation eye pillows.

We had previously worked on their sister company's site, Life Equilibrium. To avoid confusion and give their products their own home, they asked us to create a new e-commerce website to showcase and sell their products and develop the Equilibrium Lifestyle brand. It was important that the site must have a relaxing theme and focus on the sustainable aspect of the business.

PHASE 1

Establish Brand Identity

We began the process by establishing the brand identity of Equilibrium Lifestyle. It needed to be linked to Life Equilibrium but still with its own identity, so we decided to use similar imagery but switch up the colour scheme. The different colour schemes allow each brand to be easily identified whilst maintaining a unity representing the link between the two brands.

PHASE 2

Wix to WordPress

Equilibrium Lifestyle found Wix quite restrictive when creating their original site, so for the new build we used WordPress which allowed for more customisation.

We used Elementor and WooCommerce to set up a fully functional product store, with multiple shipping options and integration with Klarna & Pinterest. We also added and categorised products. Multiple graphical elements were designed to further enhance the site and brand.

The site was also optimised for mobile/tablet views as well as content and images optimised for search engines.

Since the launch of the site they have seen a huge increase of 1,492% organic search traffic. The site has also achieved a Lighthouse performance score of 93%, demonstrating an excellent user experience on the site. This score represents the quality of the user experience when visiting a site and takes into account various aspects of site speed such as how quickly users can access each page - a score between 90 and 100 is considered good.

The client was extremely satisfied with the design and functionality of the new site. The website created has positioned Equilibrium Lifestyle for continued success in the competitive online landscape, showcasing the impact of a user-centric approach to web development.
